Sai Speaks was published in 1970 to promote the transition of Chris Butler's former yoga school - Haiku School of Nirvana Yoga - to Krishna Yoga Community.
This book provides many insights into the history of Chris Butler and his science of identity philosophy. The drug LSD is referred to alongside a confusion of various philosophical concepts.
The existence of the 'psychic sleep' meditation technique is confirmed.
On page 56 Chris Butler admits "I'm not a bonafide spiritual teacher in the sense of disciplic succession.." contrary to the claims he would make just seven years later when he assumed the position of his deceased guru AC Bhaktivedanta Swami.
Sai Speaks includes many photographs which include David Muncie (Tusta Krishna das) and Kathy Hoshijo (Katayani dasi) and the acid inspired images of Krishna by Bob Schenpf(credited on page three). To this day Chris Butler claims these perceptions of Krishna enduced by 'tripping' are the only genuine depictions of what God really looks like.'
Following his decision to join ISKCON Chris Butler ordered all copies of Sai Speaks to be burnt as part of his constructed attempt to appear to be surrendered to his adopted guru's ideals and alter his own image to gain personal influence while there.

Please accept my blessings. Just now I am in receipt of some pamphlets and one booklet entitled ``Sai Speaks'', so I see so many discrepancies from our line of action in devotional service. I do not know if you are again acting upon your old principles on the guise of becoming a Sannyasi from our disciplic succession. This cannot be allowed. If you are sincere to our line of action, please come here to Los Angeles and live with me for some time. If not, then you can disclose your mind frankly what you want to do. I cannot allow you to do all these things which are completely detrimental to our line of disciplic succession.
I shall be glad if you come here to stay with me, so I shall expect your reply one way or the other. Meanwhile hoping this will meet you in good health.
